A list of do's and don't's-

  • Take at least 2.5 mg of vitamin b every day along with 10 mg of orthosilicic acid. Start taking right after taking your course. Check with your doctor to see if you can use these supplements because they may lower the efficiency of the drug.

  • Cut your nails in the right way. If you trim your nails straight across they decrease chances of ingrown toenails. If it's hard to cut your nails visit a podiatrist.

  • After interacting with water, (swimming, washing the dishes) dry fingers and toes well to avoid fungal infection

  • Don't drown your nails, can cause oils to disappear.

  • Buff your nails. It can increase the blood supply to the nails which helps them grow and stay strong

  • Keep your cuticles healthy by not cutting them or peeling them. Make sure that they are hydrated by using cuticle oil or lotion.

  • Use a clear coat of polish or nail strengthener/ hardener. Use an nail hardener daily.  

  • Use nail glue for rips or tears 

  • AVOID TOXIC NAIL PRODUCTS- Do not use toluene, formaldehyde, or dibutyl phthalate

  • If the nails are peeling- trim off the tip and buff the surface and make sure to buff the nail away from the matrix in one direction

  • Do not use acrylic nails- Acrylics tend to weaken your natural nails and make them brittle.

  • When the nail folds are red or inflamed use gel tube toe/finger bandages and toe-aid-dressings from southwest medical

  • For cracked nails, use calico invisible nail bandages or crack attacker instant repair nail bandages

  • Use natural nail polish removers

You can go back to a salon after your immune system has bounced back, usually after 2-3 months
